Racing with Tom Hagen

InspirationPosted by Tom Hagen 2009-10-10 14:19:26
A cloudy day in August year, me and my dad took all the money we made from the insurence business and went to the old F1 race track Anderstorp to drive Formula 3. This is a taste of what happened.

Racing With Tom Hagen Trailer

On a serious note though, the money spent to drive Formula 3 didnt come from the insurance business. The insurance business is very noble, and hardly makes a profit. T-Glow likes to claim that they are money sucking whores, but a couple of weeks later, you often find him with no ipod, digital camera or wallet, which has gone missing during a drunken hour. And where do he place his trust? The insurance business. Which always pay him.

No, the money didnt come from the insurance business. The money came from the band account. I am getting very good at embezzlement!

Lazing on a sunday afternoon

UppsalaPosted by Modern Genius 2009-08-16 21:31:44

Last weekend T-GLOW and I joined our friend Socrates for a trip to Gothemburg. Socrates DJ:ed at a club called soulastatic and we had a real northern soul weekend. Socrates has a great blog where you can listen to some of these soul-bites, Soultreats.se

Tonight we're taking it easy in the heart of Fålhagen watching the great movie Betsy's wedding.

Cooking whit Blue Eyes

ThanksPosted by Bronco 2009-08-12 20:58:44
I'd just got thinking of a dear friend. And it's very energy filling to do this. Stop for a moment, think only of this person and feel the warmth that fills your heart. It's great, since I'm surrounded with so many heart warming people.

This is Johnny Blue Eyes. He is a very warm and loving person who never done anything mean to anybody, as I know of. A few of many things we have in common i:

1. Our girlfriends play in the same band
2. We love football
3. We love organising files on our computers
4. We're about to become teachers
5. We love cooking fried cheese

Thank you for Johnny!

A day at the races, my love to Tom Hagen

InspirationPosted by Baghdad 2009-06-03 15:41:49

This evening Tom Hagen hosts an indoor go-cart tournament. I've spent all day on you tube studying my old F1 idols Nigel Mansell and Aryton Senna just to stand a small chance to Tom. Tom is one of those characters who seems to be good at almost everything. Our saxophonist plays not only the saxophone but also badminton like a pro and billiards like they do on euro sport. As I'm writing he's in the centre of Uppsala buying sparkle to add that extra glamour to the evening, what a guy!

Apart from this small, and childish yes i know, adventure most of my free time now is spent in the studio working on new material. Sun's shining outside while I desperately try to get a tan from the computer screen. So if you wonder how I, with my foreign looks can be so pale it's got nothing to do with bad pigments but with Dell not having staff inventitive enough to build a combined computer screen/ solarium.

Summer holiday is coming up and most of my June will be spent in front of the computer. But, next week we'll all head down to Göteborg for a gig which I'm looking forward to so much. Nothing beats travelling and performing with my best friends and it's become some what of a tradition to celebrate the start of summer in Göteborg. So, June 11th is this years date for the annual gbg gig, Wuhu!

Strange ways of change

ThanksPosted by Tom Hagen 2009-06-02 18:24:50
Back in my days of jazz, i was one of the coolest cats on the block. We smoked a lot, didn't have any money and wouldnt speak with anyone not familiar with Elvin Jones.
Most of it was bullshit, we were scared boys who never had to answer to anything. Mainly because when anyone stood up to us we could just say "Well, you're not exactly Sam Rivers", and no one knew what the fuck we meant. (And no the modern genius, i'm not talking about the bass player in Limp Bizkit.)

However, there was some purity in our lifestyle. Beneath all the smoke, i found John Coltrane. And for the first time, i found a connection between music, and my life. Dead 20 years before i was born, that damned man still seemed to have studied my soul for a thousand years.

Then came Morrissey. He hadnt studied my soul for a thousand years. He had glanced at it, briefly. And still he knew all the things that was wrong with it. And boy did he tell me about it. In plain english, instead of the beautiful, fragile notes i was used to. My faults were suddenly obvious. And he won't let me forget them.

I dont listen to Coltrane much anymore. Somehow Morrissey told him of all the scars on my soul. Or perhaps i did.
